Instructors
- Jim Manning: Owner of Manning
Florist with many years of experience in party work and weddings and a strong
background in the basics.
- Charlie Rose: With a
degree in horticulture, Charlie is eminently qualified to instruct in the
fine points of handling flowers. He is a superb designer and a very personable
instructor.
Schedule
- Spring Session: February 19 through March 21, Ten 2-hour sessions,
Tuesday and Thursday evenings 7-9 pm.
- Summer Session: July 9 through August 8, Ten 2-hour sessions, Tuesday
and Thursday evenings 7-9 pm.
Course of Study
- Identification of flower types, shapes and uses.
- Mixing colors and styles.
- Use of tools.
- Conditioning and preparing flowers for use
- Hydrating and storing flowers
- Explanation of specialty chemical products.
- Basic mechanics of arrangements.
- Classic shapes of arrangements, vase arrangements, and wedding work including corsages, bouquets,
funerals, and parties.
Terms
Spring or Summer Session: $785.00 plus tax, prepaid. Tool box, tools, floral materials
and supplies included.
